Society and Technology 2024: Artificial Intelligence Is Irreversibly Changing Creative Industries
Last week at Zagreb Innovation Centre (ZICER), after several years of hiatus, the 29th international scientific conference Society and Technology: Creative Industries and Artificial Intelligence was held.
Over the course of two days, more than 50 papers were presented, with the participation of more than 100 researchers from 11 countries.
The main topic was the impact of ubiquitous AI on media narratives and democracy, but lively discussions also arose around other important topics, such as spread of misinformation and disinformation, authorship concerns, and the impact on creativity in children and adults alike.
One of the researchers was Presscut’s Marina Baralić, who, as a part of MEDIANA project, contributed to the paper titled „Exploring Innovative AI, NLP and LLM Techniques for Analysis of Online Media Texts During the Election Campaign“, along with Ana Meštrović and Slobodan Beliga (University of Rijeka, Faculty of Informatics and Digital Technologies) and Ivica Botički (University of Zagreb, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computing).
We thank our sister company Media Net for being one of the co-organizers of this event and for inviting us. See you next year!
